Who We Are

The American Truck Historical Society (ATHS) preserves and shares the story of the trucking industry — an industry that touches nearly every part of daily life. Founded in 1971, ATHS works to document the trucks, people, and companies that built modern transportation and keep today’s economy moving. At the center of this effort is the ATHS Library, one of the largest collections dedicated to trucking history, filled with photographs, publications, company records, and more, all helping to keep these stories accessible and alive. From connecting farms to cities to delivering the goods we rely on every day, trucking has shaped how our world works. Its history goes beyond the trucks themselves, it’s a story of people, progress, and how everything stays connected.
